The Athlete Lab Mini Soccer Program is designed for young athletes ages 3–5 who are ready to move, learn, and have fun in a structured environment.

Each session introduces the basics of soccer while developing balance, coordination, running mechanics, and body control. Athletes also work on simple ball skills like dribbling and stopping in a fun, age-appropriate setting.

Through skill stations and interactive games, children build confidence, improve listening skills, and develop a strong athletic foundation.

Coach Francis Mulkern

I’m Coach Francis Mulkern, a former collegiate soccer player at Merrimack College with a background in Sports Medicine and Pre-Physical Therapy. I spent 10 years coaching with the Boston Bolts, and most recently coached a team where 19 of 23 players went on to play college soccer.

I created The Athlete Lab to provide structured, intentional training that builds strong, fast, confident athletes. Physical development is the foundation of what we do, and we also place emphasis on reinforcing the mental side—work ethic, discipline, confidence, and resilience—to supplement training and help athletes handle the demands of competition.

Coach Chris Nelson

Chris Nelson is a former collegiate tennis player at Quinnipiac University, where he competed at the NCAA level and developed a strong foundation in movement, speed, and competitive performance. Prior to college, he was a standout tennis player at Scituate High School, earning All-Scholastic honors and serving as team captain.

As a coach at The Athlete Lab, Chris brings a disciplined, detail-oriented approach to training, helping athletes improve agility, coordination, and confidence through structured, purpose-driven performance work.
